Hotel Features. Today, the restored Queen Anne Hotel reflects a blend of turn-of-the-century grace and elegance coupled with comfort and warm service. The hotel offers afternoon tea and sherry service for guests. This four-story architectural treasure has an elevator, but does not offer air conditioning. Expert Tip. Built in 1890 by silver baron Senator James Fair, the Queen Anne Hotel was originally an etiquette school for girls. According to legend, it is still haunted by the ghost of Mary Lake, who was the school's superintendent and mistress of Senator Fair.
