Location. The Novotel Budapest Danube is an eight- floor hotel featuring contemporary architecture and situated in the centre of the Hungarian capital Budapest, 50 metres from the River Danube. Buda Castle Hill is 500 metres from the hotel and the upmarket shopping of Vaci Street is 1.5 kilometres away. Batthyany metro station is 200 metres from the hotel and Budapest Ferihegy Airport is 40 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 17 minutes.
Hotel Features. The hotel has a sauna and a gym featuring modern fitness equipment, and the air-conditioned public areas have wireless Internet (surcharge). Multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can offer currency exchange and concierge services and complimentary newspapers are on offer in the lobby. Meeting facilities, including audio-visual equipment are available and there is car parking for a surcharge.
The Novotel Budapest's Café Danube serves Hungarian specialities and international dishes in a contemporary setting and features views over the Danube. The Lobby Bar offers a wide range of drinks as well as sandwiches and salads.
Guestrooms. The 175 guestrooms are located over eight floors and have light decor, modern furnishings including desks and fitted carpets. All are equipped with satellite television with pay movies, complimentary wireless Internet and direct- dial phones. Other amenities include climate control, coffee/tea makers and minibars. Bathrooms have toiletries and hair dryers.
Expert Tip. Budapest is famous for its goulash but also look out for Racponty (fish stew), Paprikascsirke (paprika chicken) and roast goose.

Getting there. An airport bus links the city centre Erzsébet Square bus station with the airport every 30 minutes. There is an airport minibus service to any address in Budapest. A pre-pay local bus 93 runs from the airport to the underground metro terminus, Köbánya- Kispest although passengers may wish to alight at Deák tér where the three underground lines meet. Taxis are available from the airport at the taxi stand and the fare to the hotel is around 25 EUR.
