L'HOTEL:
Set in a quiet street in the centre of the lively Maltese resort town of St Julian's, the Alexandra Palace Hotel is a modern style building located 500 metres from St Georges' beach. The 145 air-conditioned guestrooms are spread over seven floors and have warm decor with patterned fabrics. Sliding glass doors lead to balconies and all are equipped with satellite television, direct- dial phones, minibars and complimentary bottled water. The hotel features two outdoor pools, one at ground level and one on the roof with a sun terrace. From November to May the roof is covered with a glass enclosure, so that the pool can still be enjoyed during the winter months. The Regent Restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine buffet style for lunch and dinner, while La Pyramida Pizzeria Bar serves pasta and pizza in the evenings. Guests can also enjoy drinks until late in the Park Lane Cocktail Bar, which has live entertainment on Saturdays. The hotel has a 24-hour front desk which offers currency exchange, and an Internet café. Babysitting and childcare are available. The hotel is 500 metres from the small sandy and rocky beach at St Georges Bay, and guests will also find shops, bars, restaurants and a casino within five minutes' walking distance. Malta International Airport is 11 kilometres from the hotel, an approximate driving time of 25 minutes.
