In L'Orangerie's terracotta veranda, local Mediterranean dishes are prepared with Cretan olive oil. Dark wood contrasts with light walls in the contemporary Asia Blue restaurant, with sea views. From Heraklion Airport (HER): Distance to Blue Palace Resort and Spa is 78 kilometres, approximately 70 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Taxis wait in front of the airport terminal building and the fare to the hotel should be negotiated prior to travelling. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The hotel is three kilometres from Elounda village. Buses are inexpensive and depart frequently for destinations throughout the island. Crete's bus company KTEL connects to the larger cities and more remote areas. Many of the villages can be accessed by boat taxis and small ferries. However, Crete is best explored by car. The hotel offers complimentary parking.
Driving directions. From Heraklion Airport:
Follow signs for Agios Nikolaos.
Turn left at the first set of traffic lights.
Turn left in the direction of Elounda.
The road has a series of bends. Continue for about 10 kilometres.
At Elounda's clock tower, turn right.
Follow signs for 'Plaka - Blue Palace'.
Drive for about three kilometres until you see the hotel.
